SCM Europe Staff
Name: Kirsti Bridgewater
Position: SCM Manager
I have worked across a variety of care settings over a 25-year period from acute psychiatry to residential child care and more recently secure care. Throughout this timeline, I have been afforded opportunities to gain knowledge and experience which has allowed me to have a sound theory base whilst informing my practice for the benefit of the service users that I work with.
I have been a Principal Trainer for Safe Crisis management for several years with me now fulfilling the role of manager of Safe Crisis Management Europe.
I am currently undertaking a MSc in Advanced Residential Childcare having already complete all units at Strathclyde University. I have also completed modules and the training for trainers in Life Space Crisis Intervention and Social Pedagogy through University of West of Scotland.
I am a clinician in Bruce Perry’s, Neuro Sequential Models of Therapeutics which identifies the effects of trauma on brain development. This in effect provides the basis for the interventions necessary within care plans to provide nurturing and enriching opportunities for our young people to thrive in care settings.
I have presented at Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice conferences sharing my knowledge and experience of Working with Females.
I have been afforded the opportunity to visit America and Canada whilst being involved in a trauma informed study group.
